The Center of Studies of Jose Marti (Centro de Estudios Martianos) in Havana, Cuba is the only academic institution entirely devoted to the study of Jose Marti life, writings and legacy. Marti is consider the most importan intelectual figure in Cuba of all times. The Center sponsors research, lecture, workshop, undergraduate and graduate courses. The student programs are designed to actively interact with Cuban culture, history, architecture, and the lifestyle of its people. Some American educational institutions like Penn State University, Boston College and Vermont University, just to name few, have become regular on their programs. Just last year they had 22 institutions atending their acedemic programs. Ranging through sports, photography, history to Spanish language, you can choose any of the thematic courses offered through the year  or customized the program based on yours institution’s academic interest. The Center is based since 1980 at the former residence of Maria Teresa Bances, widow of the Cuban Hero's only son, Major General Jose Fransisco Marti, was their home since their marriage in 1916 until his deaht in 1945. The Library at the Center acommodates the most complete Jose Marti's bibliography.
